Gyms in
Woodland Hills.

How to choose one you will still be going to in March, and where Society 3 fits among the options. Written by us, so read it as one voice in the room.

The real question behind “gyms near me”

Search “gyms near me” from anywhere in Woodland Hills and you get a map full of pins. The pins do not answer the real question, which is what kind of place you will actually keep going to once the first burst of motivation wears off.

Around here, gyms come in three kinds. Big-box gyms give you an equipment floor, long hours, and a low monthly price, and leave the plan up to you. Boutique class studios give you a schedule of instructor-led sessions built around one thing, usually cardio or a circuit. Small coached studios sit in between: a coach on the floor, a capped class, and a program that changes on a set schedule so the work builds instead of repeating.

Society 3 is the third kind. This page is written by us, so read it the way you would read any gym's page: as one option among several. The checklist below is meant to be useful no matter where you end up, and we have tried to be plain about who we suit and who we do not.

What to look for in a gym in Woodland Hills

Eight things to ask before you sign anything, wherever you end up.

  • A coach on the floor, or not. Some people train best alone. Others only push when someone is watching their form. Know which you are first.

  • Class size cap. Ask for the number. Twelve, twenty-four, and forty people are very different rooms.

  • Contract length. Month to month, or a twelve-month term with a buyout. Read the cancellation page before the sales page.

  • Cancellation policy. How many hours before a booked class you can cancel, and what a late cancel or no-show costs. Get it in writing.

  • Parking. Most of Ventura Blvd is metered. A free lot decides whether a 6 AM class actually happens in February.

  • Hours that fit a Valley commute. Look for an early class before the 101 fills up and something after 6 PM on weekdays. Then check the weekend, where most routines quietly break.

  • Cardio and strength in one session, or separate. If you want both, count the visits it takes. Two for cardio plus two for strength is a different week than two that cover everything.

  • Trial cost. What one visit costs with no commitment, and whether you can try a second before deciding.

Where Society 3 fits

Society 3 is a small coached studio at 21144 Ventura Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91364. Every visit is one 60-minute TriMethod class: cardio, strength, and functional work in three zones, in a single hour. Classes are capped at 24 people with one coach, either Arvin or Kelcey, who runs the room from the first minute to the last. You get an assigned station, so there is no waiting on equipment.

Against the checklist above: memberships are month to month with no long-term contract. The lot behind the building is free for members with no time limit. Classes run Monday to Thursday from 6 AM to 8:15 PM, Friday from 6 AM to 6:45 PM, and Saturday and Sunday from 8 AM to 1:30 PM, so there is an early class before the 101 fills up and an evening one after work. More on the room, parking, and class times is on the Woodland Hills studio page.

Where it does not fit: if what you want is an open floor to lift alone with headphones on, this is not that. The class is the whole product. If you are weighing us against other studios specifically, the format comparisons go deeper.

Getting here from nearby

Rounded drive times off Ventura Blvd or the 101, outside of rush hour. Members come in from across the west Valley because the format is worth a short drive.

Warner Center

About 5 minutes. The studio sits on Ventura Blvd a short hop from the Warner Center office towers, which makes a lunchtime or after-work class realistic rather than aspirational.

Tarzana

5 to 10 minutes straight down Ventura Blvd. No freeway needed, and the free lot behind the building means you are not circling for a meter after the drive.

West Hills

About 10 minutes heading east. Plenty of West Hills members treat the early classes as the start of their commute rather than a detour from it.

Calabasas

10 to 15 minutes, either along Ventura Blvd or a couple of exits on the 101. Easy to fold into a trip to Warner Center or the boulevard.

Encino

10 to 15 minutes west on Ventura Blvd or the 101. The evening classes line up well with a drive home from the east Valley.

Canoga Park

About 10 minutes south. Close enough that the 6 AM and 7:15 AM classes are a workable habit, not a heroic one.

Directions from wherever you are: open the studio in Google Maps.

What it costs to try

You do not need a membership to walk in. A single drop-in is $35, a 5 pack is $160, and a 10 pack is $310. Nothing rebills and credits land on your account the moment you pay. If you want a second look before deciding, the buy one, get one offer gives you two classes for the same $35.

When you are ready for a routine, founding memberships start at $169 a month for The Core (8 classes) and run to $229 a month for The Committed (unlimited), all month to month. Founding rates are open now and closing soon; once they are gone, standard pricing applies. Whichever you pick, the first step is the same: read what day one is like, then book a class.
