Accessibility

Built for everyone.

Society 3 is a coached room where every level trains together. The website should work the same way. This page says what it does, what it does not do yet, and how to reach a person.

What we are aiming for

  • Everyone should be able to read about the studio, see the schedule, and book a class here, including people who use a screen reader, a keyboard instead of a mouse, voice control, or larger text.
  • The target is the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. That is the standard most organizations work to, and it is the one we measure ourselves against.

What the site does today

  • Every image has a text description.
  • The whole site works with a keyboard. A "Skip to content" link is the first thing a keyboard user reaches on every page, and focused elements are visibly outlined.
  • Headings are in order, so the structure of a page reads the same way it looks.
  • Text keeps a strong contrast against the dark background, and the site respects your device’s text size.
  • Animation respects the "reduce motion" setting on your phone or computer.
  • Forms have labels, and errors are written in plain words that say what to fix.
  • Pages carry proper titles and language tags, so browsers and assistive technology know what they are reading.

What is not perfect yet

  • Booking and your member account run through a second application that we build ourselves. Its screens are being brought to the same standard, and some have not been audited yet.
  • The interactive pieces in our blog posts (the round clock, the zone walkthrough) work with a keyboard, but they have not been tested with every screen reader and browser combination.
  • Some third-party services we use, such as the payment form, are controlled by their providers. We choose ones that publish their own accessibility commitments.

If something is in your way

  • Tell us, and we will fix it or get you around it. If the site is the obstacle, we will book your class over the phone, read a document to you, or send it in whatever format works.
  • We answer within two business days.
